• What to learn from a real pro?

    Freddy Fresh will be teaching DJ skills and techniques this coming summer, classes starting June 15 th - running weekly until August.

    Teens & Adults

    Small groups separated by ages, limit 5 people per class

    Class 1

    Basic DJ Techniques : 2 hour class - 5 days (Monday - Friday) Hours * 11am -1:00 pm * 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm 

    Instruction on Pioneer CDJ 900's Learning the equipment basic functions.
    Mixing techniques Tempo Matching transitions.
    Various styles explored: Hip Hop, Trap, Dubstep, House, Electro, Techno, Breaks, Drum & Bass.
    Basic Scratching, Transforming use of effects.
    Reading a crowd and music Selection.

    There will be a competition at end of class and possibility to spin in a private warehouse in August as well.

    Class 2:

    Sampling & the art of Digging for Beats: 2 hour class - 5 days (Monday - Friday ) Hours *1:30pm -3:30pm* 

    Instruction on how to find Beats from existing vinyl sources and programs that can be used to loop, truncate samples for production.

    some legality issues on sample clearance will be discussed.
    Ableton will be used for the looping of the beats but MPC's will also be explained during this class.
